A walk through Victoria Barracks

Tags: Dragon House | Guided walks in Hong Kong | Hong Kong history | Kennedy Road | Montgomery Block | Victoria BarracksA couple of weeks ago we traced the history of the Admiralty area, and saw how the land between Kennedy Road and Queensway used to be the British army’s Victoria Barracks. This time we’ll take a walk through what used to be the barracks, to see what’s there today. There are also a few questions along the way, that I hope you can help me with.
A guided walk around Mount Davis

On the map there doesn't seem to be much to see, but on the ground there's all sorts - Bruce Lee's ancestors, 1950's squatter villages, and even a so-called ‘concentration camp’. The walk takes you out of the built-up areas too, so it makes a pleasant break if you’re starting to find Hong Kong a bit claustrophobic.
Tour Hong Kong -- Walking through Wanchai

You should be able to finish the walk in around two hours, but there are plenty of places you may want to stop a while, so it could easily extend to half a day. The walk is mostly flat, so nothing too strenuous. If you'd like a place to stop and eat, batgung-approved places along the way are suggested.
