2/F Fu Hing House, 60 Russell Street, Causeway Bay. Tel: 2808-0250 / 2808-0971.

I've eaten there several times over the last few years, either a quick set lunch, or a bigger a-la-carte meal in the evening. No complaints!

Excelsior Hotel

In the basement of the hotel is the Dickens Bar. I love their lunchtime curry buffet (weekdays only), and we also head along there for drinks in the evening from time to time.

Up on top of the hotel is the TOTTs restaurant, with views out over the harbour. That has a Sunday brunch with unlimited fizzy wine, so a good place to go with a bunch of friends on a lazy Sunday.

Hotel website: http://www.mandarinoriental.com/excelsior/

Curry.

Where do you go for a good curry ?

In TST I'd recommend Branto's (Tel: 2366 8171) in Lock Rd, introduced by MrT. It's vegetarian only, and the number of Indian diners there show they are doing something right.

In Causeway Bay there's a cheap and cheerful Indian Restaurant on the corner of Russel St & Percival St - the corner closest to Sogo. I can't remember the name, but look up at the signs and you'll see it, up on the first or second floor. They don't have a liquor licence, so BYOB.

In Wanchai, the International Curry House seems to be slipping, so Jo Jo's Mess on Johnston Rd is probably the safest bet.

Any other suggestions ?

Mr B.
